Welcome to the Adult Community Outreach Page! This ministry is meant to help Heartland grow our heart for the world in more ways than we already do. It will give each disciple at Heartland an opportunity for more spiritual growth as they join in Jesus' mission to the Kansas City community to feed, warm and clothe, provide medical care, and be present with ourselves and with the gospel of Christ.
In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus tells all his disciples that when we welcome and serve those who are in need of food, clothing, healthcare, or in any need, that we are in effect serving Him. He cares for all those in need and the church's mission is to help those as Jesus did, to carry on the work he started on earth, and to do it in His name so that Jesus receives the glory, not ourselves. He even says that whether we do these things or not is of eternal significance, so a part of our growth as disciples involves stepping outside ourselves to serve others and share Chris'ts love and His message.
