The purpose of the Backsnack program is to provide weekend food for children in low-income homes. Harvesters provides a bag of food consisting of 6 small meals for each weekend. Heartland picks up the food and delivers it to the students every Friday. In addition, Heartland purchases food to supplement the food from Harvesters. We try to provide more protein and fresh fruit and a few nutritious snacks. It costs about $10 a month to provide the extra food for one child. Our Ladies Bible class bags the food together and gets them ready to be distributed.  We need help in the form of monetary donations and donations of food. There is a food listed in the weekly bulletin.
