  1. May 5th, we will have a Baby Blessing during our worship service. If you have a child, infant to 2 years of age, that you would like to be a part of this, pick up a form at the Welcome Center and return it to the office, along with the child’s picture as a jpeg, by April 15th.  A form can also be downloaded by clicking here:  Baby Blessing Form
  2. The Elders are asking for names of men in the congregation who are willing to serve as Elders or Deacons. Please review the qualifications for Elders and Deacons, Timothy 3:1-13, and Titus 1:5-9, and discuss with the nominee whether they are interested in serving, before submitting their name. Submit the names via email to elders@heartlandchurch.us by April 21st.
  3. Important Note: When giving to the LaPalma ministry, it is important that the memo line on checks reads: LaPalma Mission – if the donation is for mission trip travel expenses. If the donation is for scholarship or other school expenses, it should read LaPalma School.

  5. Heartland is seeking an individual to fill the role of secretary. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills. This position also requires the ability to fulfill a variety of administrative duties accurately and efficiently with an appreciation for policies and procedures, and an attentiveness to detail.   6. Would you like to brighten someone’s day? The Grandmothers Card Ministry would like to invite you to join them the last Friday of each month to send cards to cheer, encourage, congratulate, celebrate or sympathize. They meet in the Koinoinia Room at noon. For more information, see Phyllis Dean.
  7. ATTENTION Quilters: Quilts are needed for our preschool graduates this May. If you can help, please contact Katie Scott.
  8. April 7th – The food item for Backsnack is Mac & Cheese.  Donations may be left in the Koinonia Room, lower level.
  9. April 9th – The Tuesday Ladies Bible Class will meet at 10:00 am in the Koinonia Room, weather permitting. All ladies are invited to attend. Contact Renee Pulse with questions.
  10. Mark your calendar!  A children’s Easter event is being planned for April 14th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  We will have a photographer for Easter pictures. We welcome donations of plastic eggs and candy. If you can help, see Brandy Ginn.
  11. Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking individuals to serve as hospice volunteers. Training will be Saturday, May 4th from 9:00am – 3:00pm. There is a flyer at the Welcome Center with more information.
  12. Volunteers are always needed to help with Sound and Media on Sunday mornings or to get the media ready for service.  If you are interested in this, contact Jerome Harris.
  13. E-giving has come to Heartland. Set up an account at our website, https://heartlandchurchofchrist.iswhereigive.com, or scan the QR Code.   Instructions can be found at http://heartlandchurch.us/giving/. Your bank statement will show the payee as “wigheart”. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Yolanda Giboney.
  14. LaPalma Christian School supporters, there is a container with wrist bands at the Welcome Center. Please consider dropping a small donation in the jar and taking a band to show your support for LPCS.
  15. When the Fellowship Room, or any other room, is used for an event requiring a different setup, please ensure that the chairs are returned to their original positions. If you attend a church event and the tables and chairs have been moved, your help in returning them to the original setting would be appreciated.  Your trash should also be taken to the dumpster out the kitchen door.  Thank you for your courtesy.
  16. REMEMBER – You may check church events on the calendar at cal.heartlandchurch.us  and download the form from the website under Calendar. Please submit the Event Form to the office as far in advance as possible so that conflict in schedules can be avoided.
