  10. Scholarship providers for La Palma Christian School are desperately needed. $50 per month provides a school scholarship and every penny goes to the school. Fully tax deductible, and a mission you can feel good about supporting! Scholarship commitments or one time donations are always welcome! If you’d like to send a donation to help La Palma Christian School, email office@heartlandchurch.us
  11. Camp IA-NE-KA-MO is June 28th – July 3rd 2020! Please email Jeff Adair, Youth Minister, if you would like more information about this amazing experience for your 3rd grader thru graduating Seniors jeff@heartlandchurch.us
  12. E-giving has come to Heartland. Set up an account at our website, https://heartlandchurchofchrist.iswhereigive.com, or scan the QR Code. Instructions can be found at http://heartlandchurch.us/giving/. Your bank statement will show the payee as “wigheart”. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Yolanda
  13. Important — When giving to the La Palma Ministry, it is important that the memo line on checks reads “La Palma Mission” or “La Palma Trip” only. Placing a person’s name on the memo line may cause a problem with IRS if you are ever unlucky enough to be audited.  It is the policy of Heartland to apply any mission trip donation toward the cost of anyone going, so if one traveler receives more than enough it is applied first to anyone on the current trip needing funds and second to the cost of future mission trips.  Please be sure your friends and family are aware of this fact and advise them to attach a note with their donation (sticky notes are perfect).  If you send a fund-raising letter, please include this explanation within the letter.

Stay in the know: From our Elders & Ministers

3/18/20  Let us give thanks today for our lives, health, family, and for our salvation. May God bless you with health and safety as you rest in his love and care. May we be thankful for the day that is before us. Remember, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self control.”  This Sunday (March 22) we will be streaming our worship service online starting at 10 am. The link is https://youtu.be/k9VWkIxDx0w It can be accessed through a home computer or a smart phone.

We have contacted most (if not all) of our senior members to see if they are well and if they have any needs. Based on their reports, all are well right now. We will keep in touch with them. Please consider checking in on those who might be alone to encourage and to see if you can assist in some area. Pre-packaged communion sets have been ordered and hope to have them delivered to the office this week. Our plan is to share a communion service this Sunday. When they arrive we will let you know and, if you want, you can come by the office and pick up a few. Please remember to give. It is very important that we do so to keep the ministries and missions of the church running. You may give through the church website by clicking on the link at the top that says “Giving.” You can also mail a check to the church at 6120 NW Prairie View Rd, KCMO 64151.

We look forward to Sunday, even if it is online. I miss seeing everyone and look forward to the day when we can all be together again physically. More information forthcoming soon. May the peace of Christ be evident in your heart and mind today.

3/16/20   The Heartland Church of Christ Elders and Staff are continuing to meet and discuss our situation as it relates to the Corona Virus outbreak. This is still an ever changing situation and we are paying attention to the latest developments and will keep you informed this week. We are planning on having an online service this Sunday, March 22. The time and online platform will be sent out this week. We want to encourage you to look for opportunities to help those around us. Some of our people will need assistance getting their medications, groceries, or various other necessities. This is not a time for fear, but for faith in action. Let us shine like stars in the world around us. Let us love and bless in a time where there is great doubt and worry.

Watch for further updates coming soon.

3/14/20  Hey Heartland Church of Christ family and friends. How quickly things are changing in this world. Who would have ever thought that schools would close, professional and college sports would shut down and churches forced to deal with worshiping together.  As a result we have decided that this week Sunday service (3-15-20) and Peak of the Week (3-18-20) will be suspended.   We are choosing to be proactive and precautionary in our decisions.  At present, we have no known cases of the Corona Virus in our congregation.  But we are taking the situation seriously and want to protect our members.  We are in the process of working out an ongoing plan for the next few weeks and will continue to communicate with you in the coming days.  While the world panics around us concerning the corona virus we have opportunity to witness to others the hope and peace we have in Christ. Please give online through the Where I Give app or through the church website to insure the continuation of all our ministries. The link is heartlandchurch.us/giving (Wigheart). You may also mail checks to Heartland Church of Christ 6120 NW Prairie View Rd KCMO 64151.Think about those you normally sit around and give them a call or a text of encouragement. Build each other up in the faith. Take communion together as a family. The church is not about the building anyway. You are the church in action practicing your faith in a fallen world. Pray for the physical and spiritual healing of our nation. Phil.4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Look for more info coming your way soon. Keep the faith and remember the best is yet to come!
