  1. May 5th, we will have a Baby Blessing during our worship service. If you have a child, infant to 2 years of age, that you would like to be a part of this, pick up a form at the Welcome Center and return it to the office, along with the child’s picture as a jpeg, by April 15th.  A form can also be downloaded by clicking here:  Baby Blessing Form
  2. Important Note: When giving to the LaPalma ministry, it is important that the memo line on checks reads: LaPalma Mission – if the donation is for mission trip travel expenses. If the donation is for scholarship or other school expenses, it should read LaPalma School.
  3. The Heartland Christian Daycare and Preschool currently has openings for teachers and teacher assistants. This is a Christ-focused ministry. We only hire Christians in order to be like minded in our ministry efforts. Interested individuals need to love children and be willing to work hard. These positions are full time Monday through Friday and work directly with children in the classroom. When  calling, applicants need to say where they attend church.   4. Heartland is seeking an individual to fill the role of secretary. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills. This position also requires the ability to fulfill a variety of administrative duties accurately and efficiently with an appreciation for policies and procedures, and an attentiveness to detail.   5. Would you like to brighten someone’s day? The Grandmothers Card Ministry would like to invite you to join them the last Friday of each month to send cards to cheer, encourage, congratulate, celebrate or sympathize. They meet in the Koinoinia Room at noon. For more information, see Phyllis Dean.
  6. ATTENTION Quilters: Quilts are needed for our preschool graduates this May. If you can help, please contact Katie Scott.
  7. March 24th – The food item for Backsnack is Vienna Sausage.  Donations may be left in the Koinonia Room, lower level.
  8. March 26th – The Tuesday Ladies Bible Class will meet at 10:00 am in the Koinonia Room, weather permitting. All ladies are invited to attend. Contact Renee Pulse with questions.
  9. March 30th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, the ladies of East Hills Church of Christ in St. Joseph will hold their annual ladies day. The speaker is Cindy Tandy. Lunch will be provided. RSVP to 816-279-1146.
  10. Mark your calendar!  A children’s Easter event is being planned for April 14th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  We will have a photographer for Easter pictures. We welcome donations of plastic eggs and candy. If you can help, see Brandy Ginn.
  11. Volunteers are always needed to help with Sound and Media on Sunday mornings or to get the media ready for service.  If you are interested in this, contact Jerome Harris.
  12. E-giving has come to Heartland. Set up an account at our website, Instructions can be found at Your bank statement will show the payee as “wigheart”. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Yolanda Giboney.
  13. LaPalma Christian School supporters, there is a container with wrist bands at the Welcome Center. Please consider dropping a small donation in the jar and taking a band to show your support for LPCS.
  14. When the Fellowship Room, or any other room, is used for an event requiring a different setup, please ensure that the chairs are returned to their original positions. If you attend a church event and the tables and chairs have been moved, your help in returning them to the original setting would be appreciated.  Your trash should also be taken to the dumpster out the kitchen door.  Thank you for your courtesy.
  15. REMEMBER – You may check church events on the calendar at  and download the form from the website under Calendar. Please submit the Event Form to the office as far in advance as possible so that conflict in schedules can be avoided.
  16. Our Wednesday evening classes include: a teen group on Christian Apologetics lead by Jeff Adair at the Teen Housean adult class, Go West, Young Man, in the Fellowship Room and children’s classes for ages nursery through 5th grade.
